In January 2022, we adopted the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised programme for teaching Phonics and Early Reading.
Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised draws on the latest research into how children learn best; how to ensure learning stays in children’s long-term memory and how best to enable children to apply their learning to become highly competent readers.
All teachers and support staff are trained in the programme, to ensure skills continue to be supported, practised, and embedded throughout each child’s time with us at Pitsford Primary School.
Follow the link below for further information. We encourage parents to watch the videos which demonstrate the 'sounds' that children are being taught. If you would like to support your child encourage them to make the sounds for different letters just like the children on the videos. Practise makes perfect!
