Pastoral Support
Pastoral Support at Pitsford Primary School
The pastoral care provided at Pitsford Primary School refers to the support systems in place to nurture children’s emotional, social and physical well-being. We address such challenges including anxiety, bereavement and friendship issues, ensuring children feel safe and ready to learn.
The core elements of primary pastoral care include:
Daily Check-Ins
Teachers and support staff make time to listen and build trusting relationships with children
Family Liaison
Acting as a bridge between home and school, providing parents with resources and referrals to external agencies
Safe Spaces
Designated areas where dysregulated children can self-regulate or co-regulate with an adult
Specialist Interventions:
Play therapy techniques, well-being support, PAT Therapy dog sessions, yoga sessions and spending time in our gardening area.
